Complexity is the enemyomplexity is the enemy of all human endeavor.artisans and craftsmen solve complexity problems by creating tools and shortcuts that remove complexity from the problem that they seek to solve. Scientists similarly create tools to simplify complex problems that require a simpler and quicker and simpler method.
But in government we have the opposite. Complexity is injected at every turn. Congress employs Omnibus bills to fund pork barrel projects, that would not be funded in a million years, save for being butried in 4800+ pages of jabber! Tax codes are written with such complexity that a PhD is needed to decipher the codes. Even CPAs cringe at the thought of applying a specific lawful provision of the tax codes to obtain a deduction for a business or private party for fear that it may trigger an audit.
Politicians are spending a surplus of tim complaining about what they conclude is an affordability problem. This is ignorance in abundance on display! There is no real affordability problem , There is a complexity problem, and, in fact, the same politicians screaming about "affordability" contributed to the very problems that need to be solved!
